The Kink BMX Desist 2 brake kit includes the Kink Desist 2 brake with Kool-Stop Supra 2 brake pads, Kink Restrain 2 brake lever, Kink Linear brake cable and a Kink BMX velcro cable tie. Desist 2 Brake

Following on from the success of the Kink Desist brakes, version 2 now has updated cable pivots that are locked on with c-clips and larger bushings. These oversized bushings allow the coil springs to remain centered while giving good clearance for wide BMX tyres. Kool Stop brake blocks have a long history of offering superior braking performance which is exactly why Kink have included the Supra 2 with the Desist 2 brakes. Just like the original Kink Desist brakes, the arms of the brakes are forged from aluminium and then CNC machined to increase stiffness while reducing material where unnecessary to make them lighter. Theses brakes are suitable for us on the front or rear.

Brake lever

The Kink Restrain 2 lever is forged from aluminium to offer maximum strength and stiffness to help improve braking performance. The Kink Restrain lever is ergonomically designed for comfortable use with either one or two fingers. The hinge clamp has over sized joints and pins to increase strength and reduce the chance of over tightening. Obviously the hinge also means you won't have to remove your handlebar grips when you're fitting the Kink lever to your bike. The Restrain 2 lever has an improved barrel adjuster and hidden cable adjuster which works great with a straight cable or a Gyro detangler.

Brake cable

The Kink BMX Linear brake cable is made using a linear strand housing to help improve your braking and prevent the brake from being pulled during X-ups and bars spins. The inner steel cable is 1.5mm thick and is ground smooth to reduce resistance. The removable aluminium ferrules allow you to cut down your outer cable to the correct length and then replace them to prevent visible frayed ends.
