Kink 2025 Williams Bike - Mojave Bronze 21"
As well as being the flagship model in the Kink BMX 2025 range this is also the signature bike of the infamous street rider Nathan Williams and as you can imagine comes with many of his signature components from both Kink BMX and Cinema BMX. This high end street specific BMX bike has been designed with the same geometry that has allowed Nathan Williams to win Gold medals, Nora Cups and blow minds with BMX video parts for decades.
What parts are on the Williams BMX bike?
The Kink Williams BMX bike features a 100% 4130 Chromoly frame with both a double butted top and down tube. This means the tubing is thicker where it joins the headtube, bottom bracket and set tube and thinner in the middle of the tubes. This ensures the frame is strongest where it's needed most and reduces the overall weight compared to a BMX frame made without butted tubing. The forks are the Kink Origin which are made from Chromoly have butted fork legs to help reduce weight while maintaining strength.
This 20" BMX bike has many high end components including a Cinema Pilot Sealed Freecoaster 14mm and a Cinema Pilot sealed front hub with Female bolts. Both hubs are fitted with nylon hubguards to make grinding easier. These are laced up to Cinema 444 rims which are fitted with Cinema Nathan Williams' signature 2.5" wide tyres. This bike also includes 4x Cinema C4 nylon pegs so you're all set to ride street straight out of the box.
The Kink Ridge tubular BMX cranks are made from Chromoly and are 165mm long. These are shorter than the cranks on many other bikes in the Kink BMX range, it's widely considered that shorter cranks enable you to rotate the bike faster making spins into and out of grinds and other tricks feel easier. These have a 19mm diameter, 8 splined spindle and sealed Mid sized bottom bracket bearings ensuring your ride is maintenance free. Completing the drive chain is a Cinema Beta 25 tooth aluminum sprocket with nylon replaceable guard and Cinema CK (Chad Kerley) signature plastic pedals.
Up top there's Kink Form flangeless grips on 9.25" rise Kink Williams' signature 13 butted 4 piece Chromoly bars which are clamped to a Cinema Corey Martinez signature top load stem. The Mission Token brake lever connects to the Mission Cease V2 rear brake via a Mission L4 Linear cable to give you good stopping power.
The Kink Williams is fitted with a Cinema Standard Stealth Pivotal seat and Cinema 3D forged aluminium seat post.
What age is the Kink Williams 20 inch suitable for?
We would recommend this bike for riders that are 166cm/5'5" or taller. Based on UK data this would typically be for an adult or a child the ages of 14 years and older. This is only an approximate guide and you may find riders that are slightly shorter or taller can competently ride this bike.
What type of BMX riding is the Kink Williams suitable for?
This Kink Williams BMX bike is designed specifically for street riding, this can be seen by many of the components such as it having four pegs, nylon sprocket guard, 4 piece bars and a freecoaster rear hub. However it will still perform well in other terrains such as ramps, dirt, concrete/wooden parks and pump tracks.
What else should you know before buying a Kink Williams BMX?
The Kink Williams BMX frame has removable brake mounts, this means if you're running it brakeless like many street riders do then you won't have brake lugs on the frame that could easily get caught on your clothing or shoes. This also gives the bike a cleaner aesthetic and if you decide to run brakes everything is included to fit both the front and rear brakes.
The Kink Williams bike is fitted with a freecoaster hub as opposed to a regular cassette style hub. If you're not familiar with a freecoaster hub it differs from a freecoaster in that when the bike is rolling backwards the cranks don't rotate backwards but rather remain stationary. This is the preferred style of hub of many of the world's top professional street riders as it makes a lot of backwards rolling tricks easier. It's also worth noting that when you pedal forwards you will notice a 'gap' where the cranks move before engaging the rear hub. If you haven't ridden a freecoaster hub before this gap may take some time to get used to.
This bike will require some basic assembly prior to riding which will include putting the handlebars in the stem, fitting the front wheel, pedals, pegs and seat post. The minimum tools you will require are: 15mm spanner, 17mm deep socket (for the pegs), 5mm and 6mm Allen keys.
